About Me

I grew up in Oscoda, Michigan, where the books in the Fruit of the Spirit Series is set. The series follows a group of people who grow and learn together in their individual and collective walks with God. Much of my own personal life and walk with God is represented in my novels.

“Love Waits” (book 1 of the Fruit of the Spirit Series) was originally published in autumn of 2015, and I am happy to announce that it has been republished with Covenant Books! It can currently be purchased through Covenant Books (https://covenantbooks.com/books/?book=love-waits), Amazon, or Barnes and Nobles – just to name a few. “Finding Joy” (book 2) and “Keeping Peace” (book 3) are already written and I am currently working on the fourth book in the Fruit of the Spirit series, “Patience by Chance”, as well as blogs to post and other stories.

Some more info about me…

I am a Christian. The Lord is the most important One in my life. I am also a wife, a mom, a grandma, a knitter, an ice hockey fan (Wings, Canes, & Wild), as well as enjoying photography, gardening, sewing, and solving clean who-dun-its. I can be quite cheeky at times, pretty stubborn (probably more than I should be), and a bit feisty. Cooking and baking in the kitchen and writing are my therapy – so there’s that disclaimer if you’re reading pretty much anything I’ve written. 😏

I was born and raised in Oscoda, Michigan, and still consider myself a Michigander. I have spent most of my life on this earth living in MI. I do miss the seasonal changes, yet I really don’t miss the snowstorms, shoveling the snow, driving in the snow – mostly I don’t miss the snow, just the “idea” of the snow, lol. I live in western North Carolina, out in the country and I absolutely love it!

(By the way, if you’re wondering about my last name, it’s Norwegian and pronounced like “spoon hime”. You’ll get used to it; I did. 🙂)
